Saturday – Vacation is Soon!

This is in my near future! Well, something similar, anyway. Mr. Herb and I are going on a cruise at the end of next week!

Neither one of us has ever been on a cruise before, but with rates recently at REALLY cheap prices, we thought this would be a good time to try one! We will be sailing to the Bahamas for 5 nights. We can’t wait! Anyone want to give any cruise advice??

I’ve been trying to eat a little better, knowing I will soon be sporting my bikini! So the past couple of weeks I haven’t been eating so many double chocolate muffins or snickerdoodle cookies! 😉

This is difficult for me because I have a sweet tooth, and also because some of my friends in the blogosphere have been posting such scrumptious looking desserts!

Such as Becky, over at Olives ‘n’ Wine, posting Monster Cookie Cupcakes! Yum!

And then Jill, over at Reini Days, posting these Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend and a wonderful week next week!

  1. Ummmm, not that we would ever do this or anything, but if you enjoy alcohol, put some vodka or rum in water bottles to bring on the boat so you don’t have to pay their ridiculous prices for booze. Not like we’d ever do anything like that. We’ve just heard about it from other people. 🙂

  2. Never been on a cruise, but I’ve heard a good things. I hope you have a wonderful time! LOL.

  3. LOL…and trying not to turn green with envy 😉

  4. Bring an extra swim suit if you have one. That way, you aren’t putting on a cold, wet suit to go to the pool. Bring drug store items like sunblock with you, because if you need to buy it on the boat, it is NOT cheap. Pack a carryon bag with your bathing suit, any reading material, and any medication. You may be able to get into your room much earlier than your luggage, and you don’t want to be sitting around with nothing to do. That said, you can always explore the boat.

Bring a highlighter with you, so you can highlight the things you want to do on the printed schedule they give you every day. There are so many activities, it is easy to miss something.

Bring elastic waist pants for the last day. The cruise ship is a floating buffet.

    Enjoy yourself!

Thanks for the pointers Mrs. 1500! I plan on bringing at least 2 bathing suits. Good note about the meds – I am debating on whether or not to go ahead and get seasickness medication. I don’t THINK that either Mr. Herb or myself get seasick, but I’ve also never slept on a boat before or spent several days on one.

Love the note about elastic waist pants! Will bring my favorite sweats 😉
