Saturday Throwback: Summer Memories

Summer Memories

This is Mrs. Herb and me back in the summer of 1992 I believe.  We are in the pool near our condo in Fort Myers, Florida (find more about wonderful Fort Myers in my blog post here from last Saturday).  We certainly swam like little fishies.  And speaking of fishies…

This is the two of us on a family friends’ boat out on a beautiful Tennessee summer day.  Summer is great for swimming, fishing, outdoor volleyball, and enjoying those extra hours of daylight with the ones you love.  What are your favorite summer memories? What are your favorite things to do now as an adult in the summer?

If you’re doing a lot of cooking out and eating, don’t forget about our Watermelon, Avocado, and Cucumber Salad, Key Lime Pie with Oreo Crust, and Summer Orzo Salad!

  1. You girls are ADORABLE! Reminds me of my sister and I. We lived in Guam until I was about 13. It was like endless summer. We both learned to scuba dive and snorkel. It was SO wonderful. Miss it. 🙂

Aw, thanks! And 13 years (a whole childhood) in Guam?!?!?! What incredible life experiences! I would totally snorkel but scuba diving would be so daunting for me because I hate to be “strapped in” or weighed down by anything.

    • Mrs. Herb says:

Wow that’s so cool Lindsay. You must have awesome memories!

  2. Mr. 1500 says:

We would all jump on our bicycles and ride all over the place. It was great!

I also loved the little 4th of July carnivals our town used to put on. Riding the ferris wheel with a girl. Having it stop at the top right as the fireworks started. The magical moments are never planned; they just sneak up on you sometimes and then poof(!), they are gone. Sigh…

    Now I’m all sentimental!
