Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Pinit

Don’t doubt me on this one. I know to some of you, the thought of putting pumpkin and chocolate together sounds a little strange, but you should give it a try!

I tested the deliciousness of these cookies the way that any Southern girl might do: I took them to Sunday School! They were gone very, very quickly, and that’s all the proof you need!

Quick and Easy Breakfast Casserole

Pinit

I love breakfast.  And I love casseroles.  Ergo, I love breakfast casserole.  And so does Mr. Spice.  This is one of the easiest meals to put together, and sometimes I make it on a Sunday night so that it is ready to go for Monday night’s dinner.  That’s precisely what I did with this meal as well.

The Peppermill

Restaurant Review of The Peppermill in Abingdon, Virginia

I’m about to share with you one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the Tri-Cities area. The Peppermill has been my choice of restaurant for my birthday dinner for several years, and I can’t give a much higher compliment than that.

Sweet Potato and Black Bean Chili

Recently, Herb and I received our first ever Crock Pot at one of our wedding showers! We are very excited about finding and trying new slow cooker recipes.

Slow-Cooker Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Quick Tortilla Pizza

Pinit

In the mood for pizza? Well I don’t know about you, but I’m usually in the mood for pizza. At the very least, it doesn’t take very much convincing for me to GET into the mood for pizza! Sometimes Herb and I are craving pizza, but don’t want to order one in OR spend the time making crust from scratch. Fun quick solution: Tortilla Pizzas to the rescue!

Mustard Seed Cafe

Coconut Cream Pie

Pinit

I hope you don’t think too badly of me for this, but for the first 22 years of my life, I did not like coconut (or at least I thought I didn’t!). I remember my mom getting me to try coconut when I was maybe 7 or 8, and I wrinkled my nose in disgust. I’m not sure if it was the texture or the taste, or perhaps the combination of the two, but after that day I would simply refuse to eat it.

Rosemary Roasted Potatoes

Pinit

One of our family’s favorite side dishes is roasted potatoes. We chop our taters into bite-sized pieces, roll them around in olive oil and rosemary goodness, and then bake them until they’re nicely browned and crisp on the outside. Yum! You can have your french fries, America – I’ll take these much healthier and tastier spuds!

Chicken Marsala III

Pinit

Chicken Marsala, how we love thee. This is our third attempt at this wonderful dish. I must say, we’re getting pretty good at this! I suppose it never hurts being able to whip up one of your family’s favorite recipes in a jiffy, eh?
