BUTTERFINGER!!!!! “Nobody better lay a finger on my Butterfinger!” I am a Butterfinger fiend.  I’ve always loved a good Butterfinger Blizzard from Dairy Queen.  These Butterfinger Blondies with Butterfinger Cream Frosting will satisfy anybody’s craving for this delicious candybar!  I used the recipe from Six Sisters’ Stuff Blog, with the only exception being that I didn’t use quite enough Butterfinger (I might have eaten a few of the mini candybars in the days before I fixed these blondies…woops!)

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp coarse sea salt
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped Butterfinger Bars (approx 16 “Fun Size” bars)…I only used about a cup 🙁  sad day.

Butterfinger Buttercream Frosting

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup room temp butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2.5-3 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • about 4 miniature Butterfingers, crumbled

Butterfinger Cream Frosting

Cream together butter and shortening, then add sugar gradually on low speed.  Once well-incorporated, mix on medium speed until smooth and creamy.

I just crushed up the candy in the wrapper, then dumped the crumbs into the frosting and stirred well.

I liked these blondies, but they were a little salty.  Not so salty that I didn’t enjoy them, but salty enough to reduce the salt in the recipe next time to half of a tablespoon.  Other than that, they were quite yummy and earned 4/5 herbs!
