Best Guacamole Ever

Pinit

Something you should know about Herb: He’s a guacamole fanatic. Seriously. Guacamole is probably his favorite food (besides cheesecake!) I liked guacamole before I met Herb, and now I’ve developed a great fondness toward it as well. It helps that we can make it fresh ourselves (which we do, OFTEN!) and serve it with our Mexican themed dinners or as a snack.

Best Guacamole Ever

Adapted from Alton Brown.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 3 Haas avocados
  • 2-3 Tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1-2 teaspoons dried cilantro
  • 1 clove  garlic, minced

Recipe Directions:

Get all that yummy goodness out of your avocados, discarding the outside and the pit.

Mash your avocados (I like to leave mine just a little chunky) and immediately add lime juice and mix with your avocados. This helps to keep them from turning brown.

Dice your Roma tomatoes

Add all ingredients with your mashed avocado and mix together well.

Serve this amazing dish with tortilla chips and a Mexican themed feast!
