Time for a New Year!!!

004

This time last year, my friend Alex and I were on our way to Dandridge, Tennessee, to fulfill a New Year’s Resolution we had made. Without telling anyone what we were up to (and definitely not my parents or Herb!), we went SKYDIVING for the very first time!

Cheesy Spinach Quiche with NO Heavy Cream!

Cheesy Spinach Quiche Recipe with no heavy cream

The last “quiche” I posted on here was my Spinach, Feta, and Egg Bake, which was just simply too spinach-y.  I still wanted to satisfy my quiche craving, so I said to heck with all the recipes and pretty much just threw a bunch of stuff into a baked pie crust to see what would happen.  What did happen, you ask?  MAGIC!  Delicious magic.

We hope that you all have a fabulous Christmas full of joy and love!

Red Velvet Brownies

Red Velvet Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

These brownies are SO delicious that I only make them once a year. Otherwise, I would eat these things all day, every day. THAT’S how delicious they are. What could be better than a rich, chocolatey, velvety brownie with delicious cream cheese frosting?!

Sausage Balls with Cream Cheese

Pinit

I love sausage. And I love…er, sausage balls. This year, the trend on Pinterest seemed to be adding cream cheese to the typical sausage ball recipe. By typical recipe, I mean with three simple ingredients: sausage, Bisquick, and shredded cheese. I thought I would try to add cream cheese to my usual recipe this year for my Sunday School Christmas party.

“Look for the Helpers…”

In light of last Friday’s atrocity, instead of a food/recipe post today, I thought I would share the personal experience that makes the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School hit far too close to home.

Asian Grilled Salmon

Asian Grilled Salmon Recipe

I used to be intimidated by salmon. Or at least cooking salmon myself. I’m not sure why. Perhaps it was just fish in general that I was afraid of. We didn’t eat much fish in our house growing up.

Pioneer Woman’s Spaghetti Sauce

Pinit

I love spaghetti. I love spaghetti sauce. It’s practically my favorite food group. Several years ago, I spent nearly a month in Italy eating spaghetti just about every evening, and oh man, do those Italians make-a some good-a sauce-a! My family and I have a few sauces that we like, but Sunday I decided to give Pioneer Woman’s recipe a try. I made a few changes to this sauce, and while the recipe feeds about 18 people, I fed 9 with it and froze the rest.
